About the NAPLAN
NAPLAN is a national assessment taken online by students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, usually in March. It covers Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy, and reports results against four proficiency levels.

Does NAPLAN affect my child's school entry?
Generally no — NAPLAN is a snapshot of progress. Some schools do ask for reports, so a good result can help.
When should we start preparing?
Starting in Term 4 of the year before works well, giving time to build skills rather than cram.
